ABOUT

Jenn Morea is a poet and educator. She wrote the lyrics for the Candy Claws album Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time (Twosyllable Records). Her single-edition artist’s book, In a space along the margin of a field, was featured in The Magic Child Repository: A Collection of Handmade Books and Book Objects in Providence, RI. A teaching artist for more than 20 years, she shares poetry with students of all ages.

Jenn collaborates with classroom teachers and arts specialists to design learning experiences that integrate poetry with science, social studies, language arts, visual arts, music and creative movement. She has led poetry residencies, workshops and professional development for the Arts Integration Mentorship Project, Teaching Artist Development Studio, the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Archive House, Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education, DePaul University, Louisiana State University, New Urban Arts and Oak Park Education Foundation. Jenn has edited more than 30 anthologies of poetry by Chicago youth. Currently, she teaches at Columbia College Chicago and writes curriculum for the Young Critics Program and the Matinee Program at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago.
